It has a reasonable gravity (.58g) a reasonable Day (19 hours) and a breathable atmosphere. While it is mainly ocean (80%) it has enough dry land to build on. However, it is subject to severe and turbulent weather. The land is rocky, craggy and even mountainous in places, and is distributed as small, irregular clusters of islands. These island cliffs make a marvellous nesting sites for the many different types of seabird that inhabit the planet. However the exposed cliffs are not so good for plants, and the there is next to no vegetation, mainly mosses, lichen and a few straggly bushes. The Oceans, on the other hand, are rich and full of marine life. The coastal waters are home to seaweeds, fish and crustaceans, as well as small marine mammals that the locals (unimaginatively) call seals. The deep ocean is less hospitable, although it too is teeming with life. Some of the fish grow to huge sizes, which are hunted by massive creatures known as Dinosaurs. The deep waters are not a good place to be, in a little boat. The Climate is acceptable, if not ideal. The winters are cold and the summers are warm, but overall it is bit colder that desired. Turbulent storms happen regularly, although the weather patterns that produce them are predictable. However, high winds, lightning, rain and (in winter) snow are all possible. On a better note – very few people will ever get sunburn. ===== Notes for later ===== ++++ Fiery Fred's Cantina | Fiery Fred's is a franchised "Fast food" Restaurant Chain and normally fits into a specific niche alonside other, different types, of restaurants in a Star Port. However, at Lopiengata it is the only restaurant in a deathly quiet Starport and has had to adapt. It maintains the standard menu and decoration as the franchise requires but it has branched out to provide other services. However, cooking facilities are limited to one large hot/plate grill. new dishes made with local ingredients (Gull Breast, Gull Eggs, 'seal' meat and fish - and the local veggies). * Breakfast Items - Huevos Pescatori (Fisherman eggs - spicy eggs with a few beans on seaweed 'pasta') and Eggs Floren-geta (Poached eggs with 'greens') * Evening Meal - now includes Gourmet Seared Gull Breast, Steak (although it is seal steak) and fresh grilled fish - all served with local vegetables. Also sells 'Ship meals' (as in ships rations) that are basically microwaved and served up nicely (for those who don't want to sample the local cuisine) Corkage agreement - while they are not allowed to sell alcoholic beverages under their tenancy agreement - they have come to an arrangement with Harry's Bar - where the customer can send a runner to buy drinks at Harry's and then pay 'corkage' in Fiery Freds. ++++ ++++ Concourse Contract Arrangements | **Harry's Bar sells seafood - Fiery Freds doesn't**. Therefore need to adjust the menus to reflect that. Harry's Bar only sells light 'basket / bowl'meals. **Corkage.** - While Fred's can't sell booze - they have an arrangement where their 'runner' can pop into the bar and buy 'take out' bottles for diners in Fiery Freds. Freds charges a small corkage fee for this service. Do we need some sort of arrangement with the Tourist Shop? ++++
