This is all very basic, but it does give us a structure to work with. However, I suspect that Thieves Guilds and Wizard Societies would follow a similar pattern.

Academics

Academic Establishments are all about teaching things. Heads of Universities and Academies don’t have to be Master level teachers – although many are.

Relevant ‘Skills’ might be: Knowledge: - What else should a teacher have :] Perform:- for teaching Performance, Arts, Music Crafts such as Calligraphy – although many crafts will be taught via the Guilds and Apprenticeships. Professions such as Soldier – although many professions will be taught via the Guilds and Apprenticeships. To teach in a Sword School a Character needs Martial Arm’s feat. To teach at ‘Master’ level - they need to be a Knight or a Sword Lord.  

Trade Guilds

Guilds are all about protecting standards – and the interests of the guild members. There are a number of models - very early guilds had members with a wide range of skills.
