Keelboats

Small vessels, about fifty feet in length with a small sail area. Most of the keelboats, you will find at sea, can sail at speed 60, although in estuaries and river system you will find keelboats that rely on oars as part of their propulsion system. However, you are most likely to see fishing boats (Hookers) and sailing barges (Hoys). Occasionally you may come across a Zaruq, a small keelboat optimised for speed, that is a bit faster than the others. The Zaruq is occasionally used by shore based pirates for chasing down passing coasters, and other slow moving vessels. None of them carry much in the way of plunder.
