Angasa & Galinia

Overview

Angasa and Galinia was once (A very long time ago) one state, a major Celtic homeland, under the auspices of the Briganda family. However, it has never been stable, or a well established part of the Hann Empire - although it has been part of Greater Hann since its inception.

First, the area was ravaged by the Wangate Empire, led by plane travelling priestesses of Wee Jas. When they were defeated Galinia, fell to ravening hordes from the mountains. Shortly afterwards, Angasa was lost to pirates and marauders - although some said that a Briganda renegade was leader of the pirates. Later, Angasa was reclaimed on behalf of house Briganda and Richard Briganda managed to reclaim part of the Galinia coastline.

However, his Galinia's rulers were corrupted by the remnants of church of Wee Jas, and they turned to necromancy and other dark magical arts, to reclaim the land. Once again, Galinia collapsed when the various leadership factions started feuding with each other and, once again, the mainland and was overrun by undead, shape changers and humanoids from the mountains. Now the effort to reclaim Galinia has started again, under Lady Portia Briganda-Shay.

Note

Angasa

Angasa is a bustling island state, its main settlement is a small city, that has been built on the back of trade along the western shores of the Hann Sea. Prince Augustus Briganda (seventh of that name) runs a well-organised administration, with clear (and fair) laws that he expects people to follow. Primary Deities are Pelor and Abadar, although the Cult of the Small Gods has a large following here. (Pelor, Abadar, Small Gods)

Angasa is very much home base for the clans, of the House Marisi use it as the home port for their ships and their head office (and home of the Clan Lord) can also be found here. The leader of Clan Treverii, lives in one of Angasa's mountain villages, although she speaks of moving her headquarters to Galinia, at some point.

Galinia

Galinia is almost the complete opposite, Lady Portia Briganda-Shay’s state does not have a city, and the Lady’s Tower is situated in an island town, part of the Nome Complex. Away from the town, there are a couple of villages and a small Dwarf mine, much of the rest of the contains humanoids, undead or shape-changers. It is not a place for the faint-hearted. Lady Portia's campaign to reconquer Galinia started when she was twenty-four, and now in her late middle age she is seeing signs of real progress.

The main deities are Pelor, The Small Gods, Cayden, and the Green Faith. The Dwarves are followers of Torag/Magrim. Wee Jas, is still a significant deity and is worshipped by a number of the undead, and necromancers that plague the land. It is rumoured that Lady Portia has a shrine dedicated to the Royal Ancestors of Porters Bar.

Lady Portia now wants to expand her holdings and welcomes young adventures, especially from clan backgrounds who wish to prove themselves, settle down and build businesses or strongholds.

Development Details

Area details

  • Terrain - The lie of the land …
  • Tas Dann - The main town, built on an island, in the middle of Nome Pool - and hub of the Nome Complex. Tas Dann is the administrative centre for Galinia, the main trade port and supports a large community of fisherfolk.
  • Fermont - a small fortified village just across the water from Tas Dann. Its farms grow most of the cereal crops that Galinia needs. It is a part of the Nome Complex.
  • Southferry - A village, on the other side of the inlet. It grows a few crops and gives access to that side of the water, it is part of the Nome Complex and ripe for development.
  • Citadel - the only inland village, to date, based around a cave you can find obsidian and amethyst and a dairy farming arrangement with a group of Grippli.
  • Farfobik - The Great Mine-hold, that graced the region, was lost many years ago, and this smaller mine-hold is all that is left. After years of disruption, necromancy and humanoid hordes - they are, understandably, less open and trusting than most Dwarf communities.
