Other Contracts

Other contracts are generally drawn up and lodged with The Cathedral of Abadar. There is a fee, of course. Each signatory gets a copy of the document and an extra copy is lodged in the cathedral's vault.

Entourage

Overview

Be they students, retainers, new recruits to your order, or neophyte members of your faith, you have access to a small set of dedicated assistants and servants. Entourage Assistants are a role-playing addition, that may be used in RP threads, and sometimes even get involved in local action. While they may well have the skills (especially if they are running businesses on your behalf) they are not there to create loads of special gear for you - However, they may be used to…

Entourage

Overview

As you become more experienced, wealthier and more influential, you may want to recruit an entourage – Servants, assistants, business managers, a squire or even a cohort to come adventuring with you. In a campaign game, especially one played online, these are the guys who can give you more Role Playing opportunities, and who help you run your holdings and estates. Some you get with a ‘free’ feat that I give all PCs in my campaign games - other, more powerful, members of y…

Entourage-Cousins and Prestige Classes

Not all prestige classes are suitable for Entourage-Cousins. Many prestige classes rely on of being really good in PC class skills, or being 'chosen' by a deity - and those just don't fit with NPC class characters who have opted for a quiet(ish) life. However, there are a few, listed below, that can work well for SOME Entourage-Cousins. However, choices are limited, as not all the PRCs listed below are suitable for all Entourage-Cousins.

Overview

In a campaign setting, every character deserves a home. While this page is designed for use with the Campaign Rules, there is no reason why they can't be applied more generally. If nothing else it might act as a seed for ideas of your own take on standards of living and the living costs rules.

Overview

A simple analysis of different ranks and titles, with a rough comparison of status and influence. However, there can be quite a lot of variation. Some people might have more than one title and may accumulate the 'status' from each. Others might just have a larger than normal army at their command or have cornered the market in an important commodity. I use this table is a guideline rather than absolute - so be aware that the table might change occasionally.

Noble Houses

Overview

A noble house is just a group of nobles who are related by birth, marriage or adoption - who work together for their common good. Any individual, no matter how influential or powerful are, will eventually die. If they are really lucky, they might finish up in the history books. However, you they establish a Noble House, it will (probably) endure - and then your name will live on as the Founder of that house. You will leave a legacy.

Retirement

What happens to characters when they retire from adventuring?

I have seen quite a few PCs say “One day I will retire from adventuring and run a tavern” - and you can do that under these rules. However, you might prefer to save up and buy an Inn, under these rules they are much better than taverns :] Just as importantly, you can retire and run any sort of business that you own. There are a few examples of retirees in the game - Quinn is a magical tailor, El runs a mercenary secu…

How your PC interacts with others, Player Characters or NPCs, is an important part of the game - this section includes some ideas and tools that you can use to make alliances and arrangements with other characters.

Entourage

The Entourage Rules allow a PC to collect a small group of low level NPCs to act as supporters, servants, friends or agents. As the PC progresses to higher levels, their entourage gets bigger, and they can recruit more NPCs to their entourage. Entourag…
