-Brevoy is the sponsor nation for colonisation, and good, general description can be found on [[http://pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Brevoy | this page]] of the pathfinder wiki.  As always, don't be surprised if some minor elements differ in detail from that reported in that general description.  You //know// what rumours and newspapers are like.  While Brevoy is seen as a unified country, in reality it is a series of Duchies and City States that the The king tries to hold together.  Each Duchy or City State rules its own little area, under the crown, with quite a bit of wilderness separating them. The Duchies and City States themselves are rarely bothered, but the wilderness between them sees quite a lot of skirmishing between the houses.   Gorum has to get his dues from somewhere, and the military need to get experience :)
