Silverhold 50 years on.

Under the watchful light of the moon, Silverhold stands where Lake Silverstep meets the Gudrin River, a city barely fifty years old yet already firm in purpose. Home to roughly eight thousand people, it is a place of planned streets, young stone, and deliberate ambition.

The city’s skyline is dominated by the Tower of the Moon, a great castle-tower complex of pale stone rising above the lakeshore. Though newly built, it bears the timeless authority of dwarven craftsmanship. Its walls and spires are aligned to catch and reflect moonlight, so that on clear nights the tower gleams softly, visible for miles across Lake Silverstep. From its heights, Silverhold’s rulers oversee both the city and the waterways below, ever under the gaze of Acavna, warrior moon goddess.

At the city’s spiritual heart lies the Temple District, laid out with wide plazas for night vigils and ceremonial musters. The district is crowned by the Cathedral of Acavna, its white stone and crescent motifs coming alive beneath the moon. Here, warriors swear oaths, blades are blessed, and rites are held that emphasize discipline, vigilance, and righteous strength. Nearby stand the solemn Temple of Pharasma, keeper of life and death records; the fortified Vaults of Abadar, serving as temple, treasury, and civic archive; and the martial Sanctuary of Iomedae, whose banners draw knights and guards devoted to honorable battle.

The Sword District reflects Silverhold’s martial focus. The renowned Aldori Sword School, founded in the city’s earliest days, trains students in elegant, deadly forms, its courtyards ringing with steel from dawn to dusk. Adjoining barracks house the city guard and standing troops sworn to defend Silverhold beneath Acavna’s moonlit watch.

Along the shore stretches the Port District, the city’s busiest quarter. Stone quays and sturdy piers serve both lake-going vessels and river barges, bringing trade, settlers, and news from afar. Warehouses, counting houses, and taverns crowd the waterfront, lending the district a rough, energetic character.

The Halfling Quarter is bright and welcoming, with low homes, rooftop gardens, bakeries, and workshops that emphasize comfort and ingenuity. In contrast, the Dwarven Quarter is compact and solid, dominated by forges, stone halls, and deep cellars. Many of the dwarves who built the Tower of the Moon chose to remain, anchoring the young city with their skill and tradition.

Silverhold is ruled jointly by Domitious Solanus and Alisa Solanus, who govern from the Tower of the Moon. Their partnership blends martial readiness with civic order, allowing the young city to grow with discipline rather than chaos.

Though still young, Silverhold is no fragile settlement. It is a city of moonlit stone and sharpened steel—watchful, lawful, and steadily becoming a true stronghold on Lake Silverstep.
