These are standard ‘fees’ for all DM run settlements outside of the Southern Region. PC run settlements are welcome to set their own fees. Midmarch and Old Keep, may vary from these rates occasionally.

These rates apply IF the settlement agrees to your development request. Just because you make the right offer, doesn’t mean they will agree to your plans. If your proposals don’t match up with the City Rulers plans / desires / interests - you won’t get permission.

Note: You can always try bribes, BUT there are risks associated with bribing officials.

  • Preferred Investors - 0.5bp social development contribution per point of Economy. Preferred investors vary from settlement to settlement and are a political thing. If you have a very close relationship with a town, you might get the preferred rate.
  • Standard investors – If you aren’t a preferred Investor, but you are using BP generated in the settlement, you pay 1bp social development contribution per point of Economy.
  • External Investors – And investor using BP generated outside of the Settlement pays an extra pay a 50% premium on any BPs that are used cross borders.
  • (rather than an extra tax raised by the settlement, consider this is the game’s exchange rate mechanism)

Vessels, Mules etc are still portable and can be purchased at the normal rate, then moved to a new site. For example, Fishing Boats or Shallops can be purchased from the Boatyard in Tusk, at their normal price, and then sailed down to Jovvox or Mivon. Mules could be purchased (at the normal rate) from Zora’s ranch and moved to Restov. They do not attract ‘outsider’ costs. Example: V&A can buy Fishing Boats in Tusk and sail them down to Mivon, for use there, without paying the External Investors fee.
