+====== Orc Hills ======
+A range of hills between the Mountains and the Mulcroft Delta, that is home to the Gijak Kodar Ushtar or Blood Hill Troop of orcs.  Less extreme, the orcs cam here from the nearby mountains, six or seven generations ago, killing or displacing the people who lived here.  Since then, they have spread out to inhabit this small range of hills, right down to the delta side forests.  Other have spread seaward though the mountain passes, to claim coastal territories , while the passes, and their forests, are inhabited by smaller, less regulated bands of Orcs.

+The hills were home to an agricultural community, who lived in small towns and  villages linked by dirt roads, that soon became home to the invading orcs.  As the orcs bickered amongst themselves, and family of Orogs moved in, quickly took control of one of the central bands, and then stated to demand tribute from the other bands.    Now every Orc band in the hills pays them a tribute, because if they don’t pay up, the Orogs respond with quick, and painful, penalties.
+The previous owners, The Hill Folk, lived in small towns and villages, running herds of sheep in the surrounding hills, and farming  rabbit-sized hamsters and chickens, alongside crop fields, for food.  When their society fell to pieces there stock escaped and reverted to type.  Now Sheep, large Hamsters and birds that look like chickens roam the hills, and have become a natural part of the eco-system.

+Small flocks of wild sheep, often protected by a ram  (or a Dire Ram) roam the hills in competition with Ringhorn Deer and feral Hamsters who also graze here.  The most common game bird is a thin and looks a bit like a chicken with dingy brown feathers.  Many other beasts have spread out from the mountains and are listed below in the ‘Encounter Table' (Below)

+**Orogs** (LE)  have claimed a large, and relatively intact, earthworks on one of the central hills.  They use slaves to  work their holdings – including a few crop fields and flocks of sheep.  Slaves  also keep the walls in reasonable repair and maintain cleanliness and order within the keep.  Slaves are kept in pens, inside the keep, when they are not working.  As Orogs are not light sensitive, they are most active during the day and live above ground.  They rule the land, demanding ‘tribute’ from the local Orc bands, and anyone else they can lay their hands on.  Tribute mainly consists of  slaves and metals taken while raiding, although large horns from game, females and food might serve, if the band can’t come up with anything else.

+**Neanderthals** (N) live in semi-nomadic clans – travelling from cave home to cave home, carrying their few possessions with them.  They are stuck in the Stone Age -  literally.  They use flint tools,  fight with flint-tipped spears and use stone axes, clubs and hammers in hand-to-hand combat.  They do not use metal at all and do not understand it.  Food is cooked in the embers of the fire, clothes are all sewn from skins, and are just a Skirt/Kilt and a cloak.  Think as basic as you can get.  They have nothing really to pay taxes with, and no interest in ‘modern’ society.
+**The Original Inhabitants** (LN) it is said that the original inhabitants live on, right under the noses of the Orogs and Orcs. However, they needed to change and adapt to survive.  Rumour has it that small pockets on Mongrelmen live in hidden underground clans, only coming out in the middle of the night to hunt and forage – and steal what ever they can -  After all, this land is theirs.  The Orcs live in fear of them, and believe them to be spirits from the past, and say that they are responsible for accidents and just everything that goes missing.
