-====== The Green Faith ======

-===== Overview =====
-
-Almost everyone in the known world recognises the great and awesome power of nature, and revere it in one way or another.  The power of the Earth, Sky, Sun, Moon and Sea are unparalleled – and they are recognised as the great deity-spirits of the material plane.  Many people have names for them and stories about them (or at least some of them) although they are generally worshipped as a group – in the form of The Green.
-
-Many sages and philosophers believe that the various 'gods' listed below are merely different aspects of each of those great nature spirit/deities.  Other go even further and postulate that there is one super-powerful nature spirit - who has many many different aspects and forms.  Most followers of The Green just get on with living their lives in harmony with nature and don't really care one way or another.
-
-==== Annite ====
-
-These are the parents to their chosen gods -  An is father to their gods - Thea, Phoebe and Gea were his consorts and mothers to their gods.  because of this the Green faith is generally respected, although that does frustrate some city dwellers and rulers.   Lotan is the mad crazy sea monster spirit/deity -  and is to be greatly feared.
-
-
-|The Sky| An (M) - Father and Greatest of all (Mespotamian) |
-|The Sun| Thea (F) - Light personified, and patron of the day (Greek)|
-|The Moon| Selardi (F) - Patron of the night (Urati)|
-|The Earth| Gea (F) - Mother and Nurturer (Greek)|
-|The Sea| Lotan (?) - the mad-crazy sea deity (Caanite) |
-
-//The Annites might trace their (pre God wars) origins back to that point where the ancient Greek Empire met the  Middle East.//
-
-==== Wen ====
-
-For the Wen, Gaya (the Earth Mother) is both Mother and provider to just about everything that lives  in the world -  including people and other intelligent beings.  Fighting with other races is a bit like squabbling with your siblings - and should be avoided if possible.  Sol is the Father and Lune is a 'sort of' Uncle figure - But in facebook Speak - Its complicated.  Their relationship is explored  in more detail [[religion:homebrewpantheons:the_wen| Here]].
-
-The Wen, as a people, are unsophisticated tribesmen and they don't have an detailed academic or philosophical understanding of The First Age of the God Wars.  Instead they have a more natural, pragmatic solution to their own existence and the way of the world.
-
-|The Sky| None  |
-|The Sun| Sol(M), Patron of the day and Father of Humanity. |
-|The Moon| Lune (F) - Patron of the night ()|
-|The Earth| Gaya - Mother and Provider |
-|The Sea | None |
-
-//While the pre Gods War source of their gods names is clearly Roman/Greek -  it is a very simplified and unsophisticated.  It begs the question of where the progenitors of the Wen spent the Long Wait and whether they actually had a cleric or other theological specialist with them.  Some sages even suggest that the Wen, with their semi-nomadic lifestyle, might be the descendants of those people that Tar saved.  But that is all speculation, of course.//
-
-
-==== Greek ====
-
-For the Romano-Greek like state at the far end of the inner sea use very early (or minor) Greek or Roman  deities who reclaimed  their portfolios during the God Wars.
-
-
-|The Sky| Caelus (M) - Personification of the Sky (Roman) |
-|The Sun| Thea (F) - Light personified, and patron of the day (Greek)|
-|The Moon| Phoebe (F) - Patron of the night (Greek)|
-|The Earth| Gea (F) - Mother and Nurturer (Greek)|
-|The Sea| Salacia (F) - Unpredictable Mistress of The Sea (Roman) |
-
-//This civilisation probably traces its (pre Gods War) roots to the northern shores at the far end of the inner sea - combining Greek and Roman philosophies)//
