 A home is just the place where you live, and can be built just about anywhere.  If it is out in the borders or wilderness, you will have to provide guards and soldiers to patrol the area - or else you will run into trouble from thieves, bandits and monsters.  If you want to build a militarized home  (more than a few low level guards)  you will need to seek permission from the local ruler first - they get twitchy if they think someone is 'moving in' on their territory.
+{{ :pathfinder:campaignsystemii:lodgings.png?100|}}If you do not want to build a home, you can 'rent' rooms in a Lodging house, which can be covered by your Cost of Living expenses. Your landlady arranges the cleaning and sends up light meals, hot water, and the other necessities.  You have two options :-
+  * Basic Rooms (Average)  A simply furnished room, with a curtain separating the sleeping area from the living area.  There is a small double bed, a storage chest, table & chairs, a set of shelves and a  - along with cloak hooks and other minor accoutrements.
+  * Good Rooms (Wealthy) Two nicely furnished rooms:  a Bedroom with double bed, chest, and a cupboard; and a Sitting Room with table and chairs, a comfortable chair, shelves, a cupboard, small fireplace and cloak hooks.
 You can use any building with a Bedroom as your home, including the various craft workshops (although they will not generate a profit)  or you can customize many other building, by adding a bedroom.
