Citadel is a particularly important settlement, as it was developed Sir Roderick Giles, it is the first privately funded development and Sir Roderick has been issued with a patent of ownership by Lady Portia. Set by a hill, at the edge of the wetlands, it is little more than a palisaded trading post with a General Store, dairy workshop and a Lodging House.

Sir Roderick has a deal with a local Grippli Tribe – he employs a few of their youngsters as herders, to look after his water buffalo, and he will give them sanctuary should the Bogard’s come. The tribe are also his main trading partners in the wetlands, and they (in turn) trade deeper into the marsh than he could. The water buffalo are returned to the stockade each evening, then milked in the morning before they are returned to the marshes, and the milk is turned into cheese for shipment back to Tas Dann. There is a cave in the hill that has Obsidian nodules buried in limestone. Sir Roderick charges a small fee to enter the cave, and more for a licence to establish a 'claim' on a tunnel.

No one is making much money - BUT it is the first independent settlement in Galinia.
