Homes

Overview

Homes cost the same whether you buy and existing house, or build a new one - see The PF Downtime Buildings page for the base prices - and remember that there will (almost certainly) be a Licence Fee to add to the cost.

There are different types of 'home' available for purchase. However, they do come with running expenses which are, generally, met from your Cost of Living expenses.

  • Average (10 gp/month): Covers the costs of homes that cost up to, 2500gp
  • Wealthy (100 gp/month): Covers the costs of homes that cost up to, 10000gp
  • Extravagant (1,000 gp/month): To cover the costs of homes that cost more than, 10000gp

You can reduce your Cost of Living Expenses by buying a business.

Normal Homes

These homes are just places for living in, they do not contain any crafting areas.

  • House (1,290 gp) - A small cottage that can house up to two adults or a new family
  • Mansion (5,160 gp) - A huge manor housing a rich family and its servants.
  • Noble Villa (8,920 gp) - A sprawling manor with luxurious grounds.
  • Palace (19,640 gp) - A grand edifice and grounds demonstrating wealth, power, and authority to the world.

Occupational Homes

These homes include crafting facilities, including MW for ONE Craft Skill or Item Creation Feat. Conventional crafters (including smith) can use the Exotic Artisan home for their craft skill. NOTE: You do not generate an income from these buildings unless you craft and sell items.

  • Exotic Artisan (1,730 gp) - The workshop and home for a creator of magic items, a fireworks maker, a glassblower, or the like.
  • Alchemist (1,940 gp) - The laboratory and home for a creator of potions, poisons, and alchemical items.
  • Herbalist (2,030 gp) - The workshop and home of a gardener, healer, poisoner, or potion crafter.
  • Caster’s Tower (4,750 gp) - The home and laboratory for a spellcaster.(*)

(*) The Casters Tower can support more than one Craft Skill / Item creation feat - but see the full description on The PF Downtime Buildings page.

Wilderness Homes

For is you want to build an isolated wilderness home - although you might get permission to build close to a village (for a fee).

  • Treehouse (3,440 gp) - Treehouse strongholds are particularly popular among small communities living in wildernesses so dangerous that sleeping on the ground is never safe.
  • Witch Hut (7,500 gp) - Be it a crazy old hermit, a hag, or just an herbalist who likes to live near the source of her craft, a spellcaster who prefers to dwell far from civilization calls this structure home. (*)

(*) The Witch Hut can support more than one Craft Skill / Item creation feat - but see the full description on The PF Downtime Buildings page.
