Sinan

Overview

Just about the only place you will come across people from Sinan is the Drai Shon Archipelago - and they are nasty, unpleasant and VERY xenophobic. They don't even speak the same language as the PCs.

A mash-up of oriental cultures - that now acts as an extra 'enemy' in the DraiShon Archipelago region. Perhaps ironically, set in the far west of my game world. Primarily a mix of Chinese and Japanese elements, as sourced from various D&D and PF sources - however, there are elements from other cultures involved. This is not intended to add Oriental PCs to the game - it isn't well enough developed. However, they can be a new and (fairly) unknown enemy to provide an opposition. This has never been designed in any detail, although it has been mentioned enough, previously, to gives it basic feeling / philosophy.

“Warlike conglomeration of empires and states led by Shoguns, Daimyos and Samurai Lords. Very class riddled - Aristocrats rule, fight and control things. Everyone else does as they are told. A bit more LN than LE.”

Basics

We know that …

  • Way and Shan (deities, temple of the Shrines) came from Sinon (It is in their backstories)
  • The Shay dynasty of Porters bar came from Sinon - generations ago

But I think that is about it for established in-world Lore. However, that is generations ago, and there isn't much, except for legends and folk tales, known about the place.

Classes / Archetypes

  • Monk
  • Samurai (and Ronin archetype)
  • Ninja

Ranks and Hierarchy

There is clearly a system or Higher ranks. At the moment I just need two of the lowest, who might be leading a colonization attempt, these come from Chinese and Japanese traditions and are not used in quite the same way as they were then. Not a system for the purists, but one that works well with the rules, does what I need and is intelligible to players.

(*) a Military Order might be a House Order' that is loyal to a Gon's Noble House, a religious order, or something different. It is the structural concept that is important.
