Investors
Remember, PCs will struggle to get to any of the principal investors, and will be bounced around between assistants and flunkeys of all sorts. After all, everyone, and his brother, all have a good investment opportunity that is too good to miss - and that is what the assistants and flunkeys are employed to do. At best, they will carry an outline plan to the boss. If they think the plan won't benefit their master, the bounce-circle could go on for a very long time.
This is just gives a very brief overview of the wealth, importance and main businesses of each investor. Common background knowledge that can easily be obtained by most characters.
- Lord Falke, the Mayor of Eastgate (a town outside the city of Tusk), was the initial sponsor and fund raiser, paid for some troops to the keep in Edgemoor. However, he didn’t have enough money alone, so recruited other investors - then co-ordinated their initial contributions and efforts. However, he concentrated on his personal investments, rather than great developments. He now owns quite a lot of property (spread across the frontier and Tusk) and his efforts have earned himself the title of Nobile

- Lord Cyrus, a member of Tusk Council and renowned for his military prowess, supplied funds to build the keep at Northhold, as well as providing troops for the initial phases, and funding for a unit of Golden Billet guards. He now owns the keep and governance rights at Northold. One of his long-time supporters, a Dwarf called Gandred, is Northold’s Mayor and oversees the holding for him. Lord Cyrus is rules Ringbridge, a town just outside the city of Tusk.

- The Church of Iomedae have provided troops and leadership since the early days of settlement, and that continues today, although at a reduced level. Once Dame Miriam, now Sir Kedrick, oversaw deployment and logistics, and Sir Borric led the combined military forces in the field. Sir Kendrick still oversees military logistics from his Abbey at Edgemoor. Dame Miriam returned to Tusk to run Iomedae’s Mission there. Sir Kendrick has governance of Edgemoor and raises a ‘national’ levy to pay for the troops in the border towers.

Making the 60 mile journey from Eastgate to Edgemoor travelable, and then built small inns, both called the Corn Cob in (Edgemoor) and (Granton). They also released Sir Tib from his normal duties to oversee road development across the whole of the Old Frontier. Lad Bao, rules the town of Newgate, a town just outside the city of Tusk, holds a large interest in DELM and controls several other businesses.

- House Yitis supplied, or helped source, many of the mercenary troops required for the initial expeditions, and ran a boat service between the Tusk borders and the frontier. Once Lady Safiya opened the canal, the boat service could run all the way down to Tusk City, making the service faster and more efficient – in return they got trade rights in Edgemoor and own the jetty and general store. They also have a small mercenary base in Edgemoor, as well as a building that they don’t use, and might be prepared to sell. House Yitis have 'branches' in Tusk, Sunsmarch and Maven.

- The Ironguard Dwarves - recruited from Tusk, Sunsmarch and beyond formed as a mercenary group, taking members from all walks of life, so many got their military training while fighting. However, they carried out their assignments well, throughout the fighting, and gained reputation for determination and efficiency. The Ironguard swore a mutual aid pact, in respect of themselves and any ground or land they could claim with the enentual aim of setting up a homeland for themselves. Most are now serving along the Dwarf Road, both as soldiers an in the traditional Dwarven crafts required for working metal and stone. While they are required to raise some taxes for Sir Kendrick, they also receive watch payment for some of the dwarves at Dverg Tower.
