On the southwestern edge of the Hann Empire, it was once conquered by invaders from Sakar and held in thrall - however, the Sakaran conquerors were eventually driven out by the combined forces to the Hann. However, many Sakarans stayed behind and became a part of the community. Some were slaves seeking their freedom, some were conscripted soldiers who renounced their allegiance while others were in 'mixed culture' marriages (there were lots of other reasons as well) but those Sakarans who remained became an integral part of the community.

The Church of Hann is not dominant here, there are many who still follow the Old Lords and there is a sizable population of Sakarans, so the Far Coast has a foreign feeling to it. However, it considers itself to be a Hann territory.
