In the North of the territory claimed by the Hann, The Strongholds claims to be the first Hann state. It is ruled by King Frederick with many nobles who have sworn allegiance to him. His court consists of two Counts, two Barons and a number of Viscounts, supplemented by Lords of various seniority.

The large churches are mainly dedicated to Cawin - although they all contain shrines or chapels dedicated to the other deities in the Pantheon.

The overall philosophy of Frederick, his church and his state is quite paternalistic - they believe that Nobles should rule - but that a noble should rule for the benefit of his people. That doesn't mean 'equal shares' but that everyone should have opportunities and be able to make a living that is 'reasonable' for their station.

The Strongholds is a mature state with secure borders - not a good place for adventuring.
