Settled during one of the wars between the Hann and the Wangate Empire, Urgon is still a militarized region under the rule of King Brian Dingonal. King Brian is a devotee of Simnus, and the main churches are all overseen by that deity's clerics. One piece of land, a Duchy, has been handed over to an Order of Paladins dedicated to Simnus, and others hold similar positions of responsibility across the land.

Even though the war is long over, even the poorest commoners are expected to learn basic military skills - however, they always get a decent meal on 'muster' nights and there may be some hand-me-down clothes (etc) from wealthier militia members. No one s allowed to starve or die of exposure - although they are expected to undertake their military training and to help themselves. Almost every adult has a spear, sling and padded armour at home - even if they are old and second hand - and they all know basic military drill …

Urgon is a mature state with secure borders - not a good place for adventuring.
