A generic name for a whole range of different vessels, from around the world, that perform the same function - local trade. Most stay close to the shore, although some fishing boats brave the deeper waters of seas and oceans. They rarely carry much plunder, and most have a single mast, although a few have two, they can't carry many siege engines, or marines and travelling at speed 60, they are easy meat for most pirates.
