Sailing Ship

The standard sailing ship from the golden age of sail. Three masts, large are of sail, and can be configured as merchant men, or for war. Merchant men have large cargo holds and passenger cabins, while military vessels, often called Frigates, can carry a reasonable number of siege weapons and marines. They are, generally, the most comfortable vessels for long distance and deep water journeys, and are (perhaps) the most seaworthy, able to cope with strong winds and large waves. There are many different sail and deck plans, originating in different parts of the world.
Some example deck plans.
