 The businesses here,   The Inn has stopped renting rooms to visitors, and rents them as residential, it sells simple ale and wine -  and very little else, as there is no call for it.  The evening meal is always a stew, often vegetable, sometimes with meat or fish added. The shop specialises in things that cost less than 1gp, and many of their goods are cheaper than that.  They buy in bulk and sell smaller portions that the locals can afford, half a preserved sausage, can flavour a stew for a whole family.
-The other businesses sell similar items.  This is the place to come if you want to buy second hand clothes, the simplest turnshoes, basic herbal remedies, or get small metal or wooden items repaired.  You won't find anything of any great value here, just the absolute basics - but all functional, and serving the lowest tier of the working classes.
