Generally known as The Strongholds, The Confederated Strongholds of Northern Hann is a political entity that was created to manage relationships between the three major holdings along the River Still - Stilan, Melange and The Complex. Over time, Rostil and Westland have been added, and the structure tweaked to fit with that of The Hann Empire.

This was my first 'game world' back in the days of AD&D - before it became AD&D II :] The three original states are based on the 1st ed rules for strongholds - Fighters control more land than clerics who control more land that wizards … I still have the original paper based version sitting on top of my book case, the concepts hold, but deities and some specifics have changed, to work with more modern rule sets.

• Stilan was originally founded by a fighter called Fred Bloggs (we weren't alway serious back in the 80s), who died and was brought back to life with a reincarnate spell (came back as an Ogre Mage! Great tables back then)
• Melange was founded by a Cleric called Mes. I don't remember much about him.
• The Complex was founded by a Wizard called Googleplex (it is a very big number, and has nothing to do with the search engine)
• Rostil Island was settled by a Bard (who I can't remember much about) a few years later.
• Westland was added as an adventuring area, and was playing in, briefly, by a tabletop group. Now it is forms the basis for a story, and might well serve as an adventuring area again.
