+  - Captain, Lady of X, Lord of X -  status equivalent to minor aristocracy.  Perhaps Squire of the Manor equivalent.
+  - Free Captain - probably the equivalent of a Knight.  Free Captains might also be 'Lord/Lady of' a town or an island.
+  - Pirate Lord - Free Captain with a seat on the pirate council.  The most powerful are often 'Lord/Lady of' a city or town.

   * **Free Captain Barnabus Harrigan** - Notorious Pirate Captain of //The Wormwood//, who press-ganged you.  He probably doesn't like you all that much, after you stole a ship from him.
-  * **Rickey Hake** - Proprietor of Rickety's Squibs -  a boatyard  miles away from anywhere.  It is the best place to get a ship's looks changed, so that it isn't immediately obvious that it has been stolen.
