Wyn Roth's short poems.
Steam Boat
- I wonder what the fishes think,
- Of oily smoke and greasy stink?
- I wonder what the boilers burn,
- As they make the big wheel turn?
- Does it feed on coal or wood?
- Laying waste where trees once stood?
- It speeds our travel to the west,
- But is it really for the best?
A fantasy (pathfinder) bard, travelling on a Gnomish steam powered paddle boat. It is very, very experimental and, perhaps, the first of its kind …
Veronica
- The woman they all call Veronica
- Learned how to play the harmonica
- Then one fateful day
- She blew the wrong way
- And became a music phenomena.
A short poem, as we tried to work out what we knew about a woman called Veronica. It turned out that we knew nothing at all.
One for Claire
- Doodle doodle doo,
- The Princess lost her shoe.
- Her Highness hopped,
- The fiddler stopped,
- Not knowing what to do.
Claire (AKA the DM) wrote a second verse …
- A kick in the bum,
- From the clumsy one.
- The other shoe got stuck,
- So she gave it a pluck,
- Oh, a princess's sense of fun.
… and Wyn replied …
- The princess's shoe,
- from her hand flew,
- striking the oaf,
- on his noggin-loaf,
- before she walked off in a stew!
Just simple nonsense verses to amuse a child/woman Wyn was friends with.
