Settler Hamlet

A small settlement to encourage settlers. It has limited defences, but can withstand most animal, small monster and raider attacks. The economy is based around hunting, foraging and general smallholding functions. There will probably be a few small fields around the hamlet, although much of the food and resources come from the Hunters and gatherers. A few of the hardier residents live outside the walls, and others will be away on hunting or foraging trips - but the hamlet provided the core functions that they need to live and survive.

It must be built in a hex with a defensive stronghold and won't be far away from those higher levels of protection. The residents rely on your scouts/skirmishers to warn them of impending dangers.

The palisade contains a Tannery and a Community Hall, as well as a couple of residential huts.

Most people arrive for free - after all, they are all looking for opportunity - or else they wouldn't be here. However, you must provide a single unit of Private Guards (5x L1 warriors, Cost 1000gp) to see them through the first few years.

Overall costs (inc guards) 6000gp

Note: Within the Campaign System, this counts as a hamlet. (Econ1, Loy 1, Stab) and has one development slot that can be added (when the area is considered to be secure)
