Owlbear was (originally) an NPC in the Skull & Shackles AP (Paizo) - he was kept shackled in a dingy hold and only brought out to be tormented or beat people up. Once he was befriended and rescued by the party, he became a much happier and nicer (secondary) character in the game. He has low intelligence and wisdom and thinks that Crab Legs are the food of the gods.
