pathfinder:npc_classes:experts

Experts Experts are the most diverse of all the NPC classes. They are fully customisable, fairly well armed and have access to a large range of feats and traits. They don’t even need standard builds to make them work easily – you just give them the maximum points available for the skill they are supposed to have. However, they are key to the way the world works.

They are part of the Silver Economy, but they cover the range - the L1 Library Assistant might will earn barely enough to be considered Silver Economy, while a top flight Lawyer, might even be creeping into the Gold Economy.

L1 Experts: While they do skilled work, it is at the most basic level and often supervised. This could include: Library Assistants; Store Clerks, Book Keepers, Security Guards, Wagon Drivers, Valets, Lady’s Maids, Footmen, Apprentice Crafters (any craft skill), Apprentice Professionals (any Professional Skill) – among a whole host of other skilled, but junior positions.

L2 Experts: Are the day to day supervisors of the L1 Experts listed above. They might run a small workshop or business, but in real terms they aren’t all that much better than their employees. This is the highest level of expert that you will get from the Teams Pages of the downtime rules (No matter what it says in those rules)

L3 Experts: generally run businesses and do all of the difficult work, before getting their staff to complete the task. They are significantly better than L2 Experts because they take the Skill Specialisation feat at L3. This is what you get, if you employ an expert as a manager, under the downtime rules.
